Caravan site application

Regular readers will recall the report on AudlemOnline about the planning application for a caravan and camping site at Paddock Lane which was published on 10th February.

We have now received the following message from David Taylor who spoke on behalf of the Paddock Lane residents at the Audlem Parish Council meeting when the application was discussed in the Public Forum and by parish councillors. David reports:

"Further to your helpful and informative article on the parish council objecting to the above, I have been informed that the application has now been withdrawn and will not, therefore, proceed to be considered by the planning committee.

"I, and I have no doubt all of my neighbours, are very grateful to the parish council for their unanimous opposition to this unsuitable proposed development. Perhaps it goes to show that local democracy at parish council level can have a real influence in planning matters in some cases."
