As normal the C & R T Volunteers based in Audlem met in their covered accommodation adjacent to the entrance to the Audlem Mill Shop.

Our full time Team Leader 'Ange' delivered the programme of work for the days activities, nine of us on duty today, with some of the team involved in assisting a 'pre booked' classic boat 'Bream' down the flight of locks (please find photo attached), other members of the team were involved in 'tidying up the raised bank area' from the steps down to the Shroppie Fly Pub (again photo attached), another member of the team carried out a 'litter pick' of the flight 'with a comment from our litter picker' that a lot of small doggie doo dah bags 'full' were found on the ground on the tow path. All now removed to the flight dog waste bins.

Other members of the team were involved in removing a small broken branch overhanging the tow path from a tree. The tow path was also swept from lock 12 back towards lock 13.

We struck lucky again with the weather, the lock ranger team were back in the shelter of our 'covered accommodation' as the heavens opened, but sadly our lock keepers got caught in the 'down pour' and returned to the shed 'a little damp' But all work was completed as programmed. Job done!

To top the day off, our resident chef, 'Robbo' was on form preparing the 'bacon rolls' washed down with a fresh cuppa, all very welcome and tasty.

Our next planned Task Force Day is programmed for Friday 14th June, but as normal you can find members of the team working on the flight of locks most days.

Kind Regards.

Derek Jones Volunteer Lock Keeper / Lock Ranger.
