This is the monthly report for the Canal & River Trust Volunteers

Volunteer Task Force Day.

The morning was cold and damp but the team of Audlem volunteer's were on site and ready to tackle this months task, lead this month by Jim Stretch, a full time employee and Team Leader with the C&RT.

Jim lives in Audlem and part of his daily work pattern sees him in and around the canal and flight of locks in this area.

The task we were faced with today was to assist Jim in reducing the height of the hedge that surrounds the wheelie bin area and local service block that is situated between the Shroppie Fly Pub and the lock keepers cottage. Please see photographs attached.

In all, another rewarding task has been successfully achieved and as always hot tea and coffee was supplied by one of the team members.

Come and meet us on March 7th

For information the Canal & River Trust is holding a 'Meet and Greet Day' in Audlem by lock 13 on March 7th with a start time of 1 pm, any one who is interested in becoming a Volunteer Lock Keeper / Ranger is more than welcome to attend to find out more about the rewards of joining the team based in Audlem.
