2014 sees Year 13 record breaking results at BL6
It's a great year for BL6! Many students have surpassed their target grades and the exciting prospect of work, apprenticeships and university now beckons. Students will now be progressing to study a wide range of courses at the top universities.
99% of students achieved A* to E with 51% gaining A* to B, 79% with A* to C and 20% gaining A* or A's . In the face of exams getting ever harder, students in BL6 have performed remarkably well.
Andrew Cliffe (Headteacher) commented: "There are some real individual success stories both with those gaining vocational qualifications and those going down the more traditional 'A' level route.
"The destinations of our students this year are varied and appropriate – examples of this include Bentley Motors, the BBC, Oxford University, a 4 -year football scholarship in America and Fashion Design.
"Students have worked really hard and they have also taken advantage of the other opportunities on offer in BL6, such as work experience, charity fund raising and EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) to make themselves ready for the next stage of their lives.
"I believe our students are leaving us confident and well prepared and they can be counted against the very best young people in the country. Well done to staff, students and their families."
