As regular readers will know, huge efforts are being made to raise money for St James' church roof after lead thieves descended on the village a few years ago.
On Friday night, a special 'Raise the Roof' Bingo session was a spectacular success and £750 – £735 on the night and since topped up with donations – has been contributed to the fund.
Olive and Geoff Stretch, who hosted the Bingo, wish to extend their warmest thanks to all who played and all the businesses and pubs who donated prizes so generously and helped make the night so successful. Also to the many ladies who made the cakes for the refreshments.
A reminder too that the normal fortnightly Friday Bingo evening will be next Friday, April 19th – this Friday's was a special extra evening – and you will be made very welcome. As always, it's Eyes Down at 7.30pm.
