During the last few days you will have seen a lot of tree activity in the village as ADAS has been preparing for the Big Switch On the 28th November.

The Big Switch is a Community event supported by FASA, businesses and local charities.

The evening begins with FASA parading children down from the school at 5.15pm to the wharf outside the Shroppie. Here children and adults alike will be able to light a floating Christmas wish candle, organised by the RNLI.

Our 'Special Guest' is due to arrive at the wharf on the Audlem Lass at 6.00pm and will then lead the children through the village to the Big Tree in the Square.

The Big Tree has been kindly donated to ADAS and the Village by Angela and Graham Allinson of Hatherton.

The Village Lighting Display is being sponsored by Geoff & Olive Stretch to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary and their grandson Ellis will be turning the lights at 6.15pm.

A large number of the village shops will be open during the evening to help you get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

Father Christmas will then go to the ADAS Grotto at 17 Shropshire Street where he will be greeting children from 6.30pm until 8pm.

We hope to see you there!
