AudlemOnline has received reports of an unusually large hole in the road on the A529 Nantwich to Audlem Road.

While it has the same impact as a pothole, it looks as if a square hole has been excavated around a drain right on a bend where you are likely to be driving near the kerb. If filled with water, or in darkness, or a car is passing in the opposite direction, you could very well hit it.

It is between Oaks Corner and the turning to Bridgemere, going South (i.e. towards Audlem) just after the straightish stretch.

People have reported seeing one or two cars parked in the location, apparently with damaged tyres or wheels.

Update: We are pleased to report that a team was at the site of the hole with tarmac this morning, hopefully solving the problem. Doubtless a few claims for damaged tyres and wheels will be heading in to the council.
