You would have to be living in outer space to not know by now that the opening night of the 5As production of Beauty and the Beast is this evening.

As you can see from the photos, rehearsals have been going very well. 17 year old Anjuli Latham-Remtulla plays Belle, melting hearts with her beauty and kindness. It's her first leading lady role since joining the company in 2008 and she's taken on the challenge with enthusiasm and charm.

Experienced actor, Rob Tovey, plays the Beast. This is his second year with 5As and he's proving to be a very versatile actor portraying the Beast with not only ferocity but vulnerability too. Rob's hidden talent for singing is also revealed for the first time this year.

5As is extremely fortunate to have professional theatrical costume maker, Monique Hollinshead on board. With her team of seamstresses, her work can be only described as spectacular. For maximum effect, her fabulous creations will be kept out of the public eye until opening night.

Beauty and the Beast runs from today, Wednesday 30th January, to Saturday 2nd February at Audlem Public Hall. Performances start at 7.30pm each evening and there's also a matinee on Saturday 2nd February at 2.00pm.

Tickets are £6 each and a number are still available from May Hunter on 01270 811145
