AWEG, the Audlem Wildlife & Ecology Group, has its first meeting of the year this evening, Tuesday 28th January, at 7.15pm in the Lord Combermere.

Guest speakers are Chris and Rosie Lewis who will be describing a trip they made to the Falkland Islands. Chris is also a well-known local vet and is one of a growing number who may have spotted an Eagle Owl locally although none of the sightings reported so far are certain.

Potential trips next year include Cheshire Wildlife's HQ at Bickley Hall, the Sefton coast, Parkgate and Burton on the Wirral for a High Tide event, Warburton Wood near Frodsham, Whixall Moss, Melverley Meadows at Ash and Marbury Country Park.

The group meets informally every other month at the Lord Combermere and anyone interested in wildlife is very welcome. AWEG was formed three years ago and arose out of the 2010 Parish Plan.
