Folk trio The Trials of Cato, appearing at the next FatPigeonLive music session in Audlem, will get a chance to meet friends and family in the village.

Mandolin player, Robin Jones, has relatives in Audlem and plans to meet relatives and make new friends on his visit to the village for the live music event on March 4.

Robin comes from North Wales and met up with fellow performers Tom and Will while teaching English in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

"We quickly discovered our love of folk music and formed a band, touring the local nightclubs and other Beirut music venues," said Robin.

Since returning to the UK, The Trials of Cato has become a much sought-after band at music venues across the country.

Rooted in the folk traditions of Ireland and Britain, their performances on guitar, mandolin, banjo and bouzouki have a Middle Eastern flavour and an exhilarating contemporary twist that has impressed audiences young and old.

They recently played the Calaveras Festival in Berlin, featured at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and recorded their first EP at the Abbey Road Institute in London.

The folk trio appear at the FatPigeonLive session in Audlem for a night of music recorded on film before a live studio audience.

Joining them on the bill are Manchester indie favourites The Rainband and soulful Shropshire-based singer Nikki Rous.

The live music session is at Audlem Public Hall on March 4. Tickets £10, students £4. Doors open 7.30pm with a fully stocked bar. Click here for FatPigeonLive tickets. It's a limited ticket event so it's best to book ahead.

FatPigeonLive is an independent platform for UK musicians based in Audlem. Live performances are filmed before a studio audience for broadcast on the internet. Look out for the FatPigeonLive performance stand at the forthcoming Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival on Easter weekend.
