Half term break

This is the last day before half term and again we have been able to show a lot of resilience in how as a schoolcommunity we have dealt with all the different emotions of the last 6 weeks. I am hopeful that we are going in theright direction with the fight against COVID-19 and this is down to the hard work and dedication of many people e.g.scientists, NHS, teachers, parents and children.

I would however like to thank one part of this equation more thanothers and this is the children.

They bring us such rays of sunshine and make everyone smile with their presence inschool.

Air Pollution

Can I ask all parents to avoid unnecessarily idling their engines whilst parked at drop-off and pick-up times?

Idling inthis way causes significant air pollution to those both inside and outside the vehicle and affects children more thanadults; the density of poisonous gasses from internal combustion engines increases toward ground level, therefore thesmaller the child, the greater the concentration of poisonous gas they breathe in.

Thank you for your help in this.
