Audlem running group is picking up its pace with new runners arriving on a weekly basis. Our weekly run remains a steady 4 miles using a muster system which caters for all paces. The routes vary each week (weather dependent) and aside from helping to keep your feet relatively dry it also helps to develop your running as training is varied.
Running with a group has several additional benefits. It's a great way to meet others who share your interest and a place where you can share advice.
It encourages you to schedule a workout when you know others are involved (8.30am on Saturday from the playing field and village car park).
As a psychologist who runs, joining a running group creates an identity shift where psychologically you come to identify yourself as a 'runner' rather than just someone who runs. This has significant benefits for increased commitment and participation.
On April 13th the Audlem running group are going to travel to take part in their first local park run. This is a 5k run and if you want to come along you just need to register (it's free) on parkrun.org.uk to obtain your unique barcode.
The group meets weekly on Saturday at 8.30am on the village playing field/car park.
We look forward to welcoming you!
