Audlem receptionist receives top tourist award

Sarah Weaver, aged 18, who lives in Woore Road, Audlem is celebrating after being named the region's most impressive trainee at the Chester and Cheshire CATS awards event at Tatton Park last week.

Sarah is on a management trainee programme at Carden Park Hotel after studying hospitality supervision at South Cheshire College. Sarah is featured in this week's Chronicle and says it's a dream come true as she has always aspired to work at the hotel after doing work experience there.

She said: "I absolutely love my job. I'm still learning but it's fantastic and I'm so lucky. To be working here is amazing but when I found I had won I was flabbergasted." Sarah is also full of praise for the college that gave her the big break. "It's a really good course and it prepares you for the world of work with hands on experience."

Sarah's father, William, said: "I'm so proud of her and thrilled. She's full of energy and confidence and has worked so hard to get where she is. She has always wanted to be a manager there ever since her work experience. The award is brilliant as it recognizes all the hard work she has put in."
