Due to a couple of cancelations there are two or three places free for last minute competitors for the first ever Audlem Poetry Slam which kicks off the Festival at The Bridge Inn 8.00pm Thursday night.

It would be great to have a bigger representation from the village.

This is what happens. Performance poets go head to head in a live poetry competition. They've each got three minutes to wow the audience and the invited panel of judges.

After the first two rounds three poets will remain to battle it out in the final.

Expect fast moving verse and witty rhymes as they fight it out to be crowned Audlem Slam Champion.

So if you are successful in making the final you will need to have 3 different 3 minute poems ready (one for each round) and of course these have to be your own work.

To enter now contact Emma on emmaasif@hotmail.com or phone Emma on 07950 165265

And if that is all a bit too much then why not join the popular poetry writing workshop on the Saturday at the Bridge 12 noon.

All the info for this and everything else at the Audlem Festival can be found on www.audlemfestival.com or pick up a programme in the village.
