It is the May meeting of Audlem Parish Council this evening at 7.30pm at Thornton House. Members of the public will be invited to comment on any of the items on the agenda or draw attention to matters of concern before ordinary business commences.

Before that, the meeting starts with the Election of Chairman and Vice-chairman for the coming year.

Highlights on the agenda include the Local Plan consultation by Cheshire East Council – covered several times on AudlemOnline over recent days – and, under planning, a retrospective planning application for a wall which has recently had to be partially demolished after a ruling by planners, despite extensive support from many local residents for the structure.

Audlem Parish Council queried this ruling with the Planning Inspectorate back in January asking why local opinion was overlooked in the Inspector's decision. The Inspector promised a reply by March but, as yet, nothing has been published as far as we know. Hopefully, further light on this will emerge at the meeting.

There will also be a report on Superfast Broadband while the report of the Project Working Group on the Playing Field, and whether the Parish Council should take over responsibility for the field and associated assets from Cheshire East Council, will be discussed.

The council will also be forming working groups to take forward possible funding projects.

Under Financial matters, the Parish Council will receive the council's draft accounts for 2012/13.

AudlemOnline plan to publish a series of reports on the Parish Council meeting over the coming week. In the meantime, you can read the agendahere and the minutes of the April meeting here.
