Today, Sunday 15th September, is the date for the TLI National Road Race Championships and they are being held here in Audlem hosted by Audlem Cycling Club.

Race HQ is the Public Hall and due to road works in Bridgemere the circuit has changed and now the event will feature racing coming directly into the village!

The races will start at 10.00am with the groups being lead out onto the circuit from the centre of the village up the Whitchurch road. The racers will then turn into Shavington Park in Burleydam and ride through to the lodge house on the far side of Adderley returning back to Audlem on the A529 up Green Lane and then back onto the Whitchurch Road (A525).

Each lap is 10.5 miles and the racers will have to complete the loop 6 times! The weather forecast isn't looking too good for Sunday but the races will still go ahead so if you can give them a cheer as they come in and out of the village I'm sure the riders will appreciate it.

This is a prestigious event for the racers, Audlem CC and the village...another chance for the jewel in south Cheshire's crown to shine.

This coming Wednesday there's another cycling treat with the Tour of Britain race passing near Audlem – see here. British cycling greats like Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish will be involved in Stage Four of the Tour of Britain 2013 on September 18th.
