This coming Thursday evening (16th) we have a well known local speaker and researcher, Graham Dodd, talking about the brine workings in Nantwich and we hope to uncover knowledge of workings further South, most are found alongside the River Weaver.
Next month Maureen Morgan will talk about Crewe Park, a favourite venue when she was a child and we will find out what the connection is between the Park and our well loved Nora Bate!
In July a trip is planned to see Wistaston Hall, have a pub lunch and then go on to the Park.
May sees a well known name from the Potteries-Ray Johnson (first time visit to our society) talking about Arnold Bennett. It is the 150th anniversary of the author's birth that month.
In June we shall book for a tour of Combermere Abbey-this needs to be paid for up front and will be first come first served.
Autumn brings tales of our own Fire Service conducted by Bob Poole and Isobel Edmunds.
The History Society is all about trying to record local knowledge and happenings before it is too late. We shall be approaching Sports groups next to make sure their records are safe and perhaps they will share them with us.
