As you may have guessed, this is once more sent " in absentia".

We have a home game and we play a team named White Eagles. A team that was new to the league this season and formed from residents of Crewe who came from Poland. Tough team and one that is hard to beat and have shown themselves to be very worthy opponents. We shall see just what transpires. Last time we met was at the start of the season AND we beat them, 2-1! One of our few victories.

With regard to the playing field , we are fast running out of time to enable Cheshire East Council to put right the very poor condition of the area. The problem is that we do have matches that were abandoned or cancelled due to the very wet condition of many pitches under the aegis of the council. It is hoped that we can commence work – or rather, they can commence work at the beginning of May.

I will just have to try to rope off the No go areas after seeding/ turfing. Problem is that May 29th is carnival day when the field will be open for the traditional annual carnival of music, Punch and Judy, Carnival Queen and lots of stalls. Plus of course annual visit of the funfair.

Latest news from Chesire East is that they have responded in a positive manner and work will begin any day soon to get the playing field up to standard. My piece on the website gives more detail.

So to the field of play on Sunday . As stated game was versus White Eagles , with Keith Curzon as our referee. The game itselfI I did not see – being 1200 miles away.-

The result.

We lost. Yet again. Meet the Sunderland of Cheshire. Propping up the rest.
Score , 5-1 , and we did not score a single goal.
A poor effort again with a team of just 12 to choose from.
I wonder were we are to go.

As a signature to the report I present for you a picture of Spain in bloom with masses of wildflowers in the fields, intermingled with the crop of rape seed. All over the country are many wild flowers in bloom, a testament to little use of herbicides. As it was many years again in our own countryside.

Next match is on the 16th. Away versus Talbot F C.
