If you thought the village is looking unusually spruce and smart, perhaps this is the reason why....
32 volunteers turned up on a sunny Saturday morning, all eager to help remove and identify single use plastic and other litter from the village's paths, tracks, parks, fields and hedges.
In an hour, we managed to fill 5 bin bags and keep a tally of the types of litter we were finding. This will be fed back to Trash Free Trails alongside other Spring Clean findings taking place nationally over the next week.
Thanks to Pau for hosting us, the Scouts for lending us their litter pickers, Rachel for sponsoring the bin bags and all those who gave of their time to keep Audlem and its public spaces looking great.
I have already discussed with some of the volunteers how we might make this a more regular event in the village and will keep you informed via Audlem Online and other social media channels.
