Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) is for local people, by local people.

We are a local Charitable Trust which provides welfare support and social activity for older people who may be vulnerable or socially isolated.

We provide our services to people in Audlem, Hankelow, Buerton, Hatherton and Lightwood Green and the wider rural district.

Our Aims

Our aims are to help local people:

  • Keep socially active and to meet others locally
  • Keep their independence
  • Maintain and improve health and well being

ADCA's Services

All our services are co-ordinated by our trained and qualified staff and are supported by our experienced volunteers

Tuesday Day Club

Held at Hankelow Chapel each week between 10.00am and 3.30pm with transport provided by our voluntary drivers if necessary.

Provides a range of social activities and friendship which helps to improve overall health and well being. Activities include discussions on local events, visiting speakers and musical groups and gentle exercise and quizzes.

The Day Club also provides a freshly cooked lunch with tea and toast on arrival and afternoon tea and cakes along with regular trips out for a pub lunch.

To refer yourself or a family member for a home visit, please contact:

Friday Coffee Club

The Friday Coffee Meeting meets at the Lord Combermere in Audlem Square every week between 10.00am and 12noon for friendship, chat, news and updates with occasional speakers talking about an interest or past experience. You are welcome to drop in any Friday morning.

Befriending Service

Individual support is provided to people who are either housebound or who cannot easily join in social events. We match individual volunteers to provide regular visiting support and friendship.

Home Library Service

This service is for people who can't now visit the Library Van themselves. Our volunteers arrange to bring you books or audio books to your home every three weeks.

Voluntary Driving Service

This service takes people to local social events and health appointments and also takes people to the day and coffee clubs.

She is always happy to hear from anyone who may be interested in attending our clubs or to receive support from our other services or to become a volunteer.
