Audlem continued on their merry way as they registered a 5 wicket victory over Stafford at the Gorse Croft last Saturday.

Audlem are making a big impact in their first season in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League after switching from the Cheshire leagues during the close season and highlighting the fact they are playing beneath the level they would prefer to be competing.

However all new teams have to start somewhere and they maintained their winning run at the weekend , Stafford were bowled out for 116, in which Jake Bartlett (36) and Lee Farrington (34) impressed. Simon Swift, James Cottrell, Atiq Hashmi, Neil Humphries and Andy Rothwell all took two wickets.

Atiq ( 55 not out ) and Dan Butler (45) put on 87 for the first wicket in reply and although James Glayshier ( 4 for 13) sparked a mini- collapse Audlem had plenty of batting in reserve to ensure a comfortable victory.

Sunday's game at Malpas was called off at the last minute as the hosts were unable to raise a team on the day and with the late notification the Sunday lads were unable to secure an alternative fixture.

Next Saturday Audlem are away to Porthill Park who play their games at nearby Scot Hay Cricket Club and the Sunday team are on their travels again. This time to Armitage to take on Trent Valley CC.

Cricket is being played at the Gorse Croft this coming Saturday as Woore who are having groundworks carried out on the Falcon Field take on Church Eaton CC with a 12:30pm start.
