Audlem Beavers Visit Highfields Farm

I am delighted to share with you our latest adventure where we were invited to learn about dairy farming at Highfields Farm with Alan Winstanley.

Alan gave us a tour of his incredible farm and spoke with pure passion about his subject giving us the full experience from cow to carton. Alan's pride in his herd and impeccably high standards were clear to see. The farm is exceptionally high tec and it was a truly eye opening experience. The newborn calves had heated floors, the mothers air conditioning, the cows' scratching brushes made us chuckle and the robot that washed them at milking time was mind blowing. This really was a fantastic experience for us all and to end this memorable evening, Alan and Lauren treated us to freshly baked cakes and of course a glass of fresh cold milk to wash it down!

It is tremendously heartwarming the amount of local support we receive for our colony week on week. The range of skills and knowledge being passed down the generations is a true testament to our wonderful village.
