Auction of Promises

In early July, Audlem Methodist Church is attempting to raise £5,000 in just one day for Macmillan Cancer Support.

One of the events arranged to help raise this sum is an Auction of Promises. The auction is being held on the evening of Saturday 4 July, within the evening performance of 'Sing-a-long the Shows'. (All tickets for this performance have now been sold, but tickets still remain for the afternoon performance.)

You can still take part in the Auction of Promises even if you haven't got a 'Sing-a-long the Shows' ticket. Advance bids are being received by Brenda Heathcock on brenda@heathcock.plus.com">brenda@heathcock.plus.com. Among the promises being auctioned are:

• a one-day emergency first-aid course,
• a day's fishing tuition,
• a baking surprise each month for a year,
• a 'tour' of a beehive,
• a special quarter peal by St James bell-ringers,
• a round of golf for two at Market Drayton Golf Club,
• the preparation of a Will by Hibberts Solicitors,
• lunch for four at The Farmers Arms at Ravensmoor,
• a photo shoot with disc of photos and 10x8 print,
• celebration cakes baked to your choice of design.
