A thank you from Audlem Special Events Team

ASET has a huge number of people to thank for supporting the Party on the Park on Saturday 4th July...

  • Starting with our main Sponsor, EPG, who have supported us for the past 8 years;
  • PET, who supplied equipment and celebrated their 40th year of business with us on Saturday,
  • The many other businesses who supported us by taking advertising space in our programme. Without their generosity this event could not take place.
  • Dave Johnson, with his Signal colleagues who compered and steered the event in his own inimitable style, what would we do without him?
  • The legendary Jim Kirkpatrick accompanied by local talented musicians including our very own John Gunstone and Alisdair MacKenzie, who got people in the mood for dancing.
  • The Tribute Show who reminded us why we had asked them back. With a nod to the 60s, 70s and 80s, we were entertained by Lulu, Dire Straits, Madonna, Madness, Phil Collins, Cher- far too many to list.
  • And amongst all this and co-ordinated by Dave Johnson, was a surprise marriage proposal live on stage by Steve Williams to Carly, which thankfully was accepted. ASET send its congratulations.
  • The night ended with international champions, Blitz Fireworks of Crewe once again providing a wonderful finale on a lovely clear night.

ASET works all year to put this event together but could not do it without the volunteers and helpers who work tirelessly behind the scenes over the 3 days it takes to set up the event, too many to mention, but you know who you are!

On a final note ASET would like to thank YOU our audience for buying the tickets and making the night so special. We estimate that there were over 2,500 people partying on the park and it was lovely to see whole families and friends enjoying themselves with very well behaved children running around and having fun. A wonderful atmosphere.

Audlem can certainly show the world how to party.

See you there next year.
