The next Audlem Ramblers (ARS) walk will be on Saturday 28th June 2025 and will be at Apedale Country Park, led by Jeanette Shenton.
The walk is 4.5miles in length and is mainly on shale paths and tracks through meadow and woodland . It is an undulating walk with one steep 40 metre uphill stretch and 3 stiles.
The walk starts at Apedale Heritage centre where there is free parking, ST5 7LB. The toilets and cafe are open from 10.30.
During the walk there are several places where we can experience far reaching views, a restored chimney and a mining memorial.
Depart Audlem car park at 9am
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
