Many groups will be using the Annexe to the Public Hall when it is completed and have been heavily involved in the APHAx bids for funding. There was a universal welcome for The Big Lottery funding for the new Annexe.

Kate Parkes, of Audlem Youth Club, says: "Seven years ago it was Youth Club's goal to try and build a modest wooden structure in which to meet, sited where the new annexe will now be.

"'Operation Hut' started what the APHAx team have so tenaciously managed to finish and in spectacular manner. Thanks to lottery funding an Audlem Youth Club will have a permanent place to meet that they can call their own and make their mark on, probably for the first time in the history of the village. To say we are very excited is an understatement!"

Two Youth Club members added their welcome to the news:
Jay "It'll be great, I'm really looking forward to it" while Lily said: "There's never been anything like it in Audlem before. It will be really good. I love Wednesday nights. When it's Monday I always wish it was Wednesday. I wish it was Wednesday every night!"

Roger Millns on behalf of ADCA (Audlem District Community Action) says: "This is tremendous news that the Public Hall Annexe, which all the partner organisations have worked so hard on, will now become a reality.

"The new purpose-built facilities will provide a comfortable and conveniently located home for many of ADCA services to older people. It will also enable much more interaction between all ages and interest groups to the benefit of all".

Cat Maddocks of the 5A Theatre Group also welcomed the news: "The 5A have used the Public Hall for 22 years and have always been proud to be part of the Hall's history. It is with great pleasure that I can congratulate APHAx in receiving this grant and on behalf of the 5A we are all looking forward to seeing and using the new facilities.

"With the new additions I am certain that the 5A company will continue to provide a group that supports all ages, from young to old, and gives them a forum to come together and enjoy their hobby to the fullest."

Ralph Warburton of Audlem FC says: "We are delighted that all the effort that has been applied to gaining such a grant has come to fruition. We, as a reformed football club , have been long time embarrassed at the poor facilities we had here in Audlem for ourselves and our visiting teams, especially so when we see just how good others are when we travel to away matches. Now with showers and good changing rooms for all sports we will be a true star."

Ben Clark says: "There will be a gym on the first floor with a treadmill and other machines for cardio-vascular exercise, and resistance equipment for strength exercises.

"A gym club will be formed, and inductions will be organised with a fully qualified personal trainer. In addition to equipment demonstration, advice will be given on exercise schedules to meet individual requirements.

Adriana Roscoe added: "The gym will be available for use throughout the day and evening, with access by swipe card, which will be issued to paid up members who have completed their induction training.  Gym users will also have access to the changing rooms and showers.

"At present anyone wanting to attend a gym has to travel to either Market Drayton or Nantwich.  We will now have a facility for exercise and training in the village."
