In February the Audlem Public Hall Annexe Committee (APHAx) announced their success in achieving funding of £23000 from the Homes and Communities Association (HCA) which will cover the design, planning and consents phase.

We have been in discussion for nine months with Cheshire East over the transfer of the land required at the rear of the Public Hall and have just received written confirmation from the Council that the land will be transferred to the ownership of Audlem Public Hall for a nominal sum.

There have been a few hiccups on the way but thanks to the combined efforts of the leaders of the organisations needing the facilities, Audlem Parish Council, AudlemOnline and local Cheshire East Councillor Rachel Bailey, we have reached a successful conclusion.

Having secured the initial funding and the land the committee will now concentrate on refining the details of the proposed annexe so that an architect can be commissioned to prepare detailed plans and produce costings.

They are also in the process of seeking further major funding from a number of sources and following direct discussions with the Big Lottery Northern Funding Manager have been advised we are eligible for the 'Big Lottery – Reaching Communities – Buildings' funding.

In the next couple of weeks every household in Audlem, Buerton and Hankelow Parishes will receive a questionnaire requesting residents' views and support for the project.

We would ask everyone to complete and return the form as support from the community is a key requirement to gain funding
