Laying Supper

The Audlem Lass Boat Service could not function without the unstinting commitment of all our Volunteers and the support of their respective partners, as well as the invaluable involvement of Angus and Janet Maughan of Overwater Marina and their team. As a 'thank you' to all concerned a Laying Supper was held on Wednesday evening at The Bhurtpore Inn, Aston . An excellent buffet was enjoyed.

Certificates of Competence

In recognition of those who have undertaken the RYA helmsman certification, completed the specially developed training programme for the operation of the boat, and fulfilled crewing during the Season, Certificates of Competence were presented.
Towards the end of the evening a special presentation was made to Rodney Cottrell in recognition of his inspiration, and determination to not only take up the challenge of making this service possible, but also in instigating the additional service of the Wheelyboat 'The Maughan Lass'.

We continue to attract additional Volunteers to our Team and are looking forward to a very busy 2017 Season which begins on Good Friday 14th April.

This completes the sixth year of The Audlem Lass Boat Service which has carried in excess of 25,000 passengers between Overwater Marine and Lock 15, and has proved to be a tremendous asset to the village during the Season, giving much pleasure to visitors to our area.

The Lass brings Santa

The Audlem Lass has one more important role to play before being tucked up for the Winter – she will be bringing Father Christmas to the Wharf near the Shroppie Fly on Friday 25th November : arrival 6pm, in good time for The Big Switch On.
