Another cuckoo heard – updated with new messages

Audlem Online has received a number of emails about the missing cuckoos, plus one a week or so ago saying a cuckoo had been heard down by the Weaver. We have now had another report of a cuckoo in or near Coxbank, and heard very clearly. So after a few years when they seemed to have near disappeared from the area, there has been a return this year.

Chris Lewis also writes to say: "At last I too heard a cuckoo whilst gardening on Monday. I expect it could be the Coxbank bird. I raised this topic and seem to have been the last to hear the bird!"

And from the Salford redoubt, Brigadier ToWhittawhoo (a new corresponent to Audlem Online, we don't think!) writes to say: "Two days ago the Cuckoo took up residence in Salford. Trouble is, the damn thing sounds remarkably like a cockerel. D'you think he's in diguise?"
