Audlem Online yesterday published a lengthy comment from a local respondent about the discussion on ambulance cover at last week's Community Action meeting. There's been several more local comments received on this issue. One says:

"It occured to me after the Community Action Meeting that no-one has suggested lobbying our

MP on the subject – I believe that he is currently the Opposition Front

Bench spokesman on Health – this is just a thought but he might carry some

clout with the Primary Care Trust – the problem must affect most of his constituency."

Another writes on the lack of Cheshire representation on the North West Ambulance Service's board:

"Yesterday a correspondent raised the issue of the huge numbers of people who seemed to be involved on the various boards at the Western Cheshire Primary Care Trust. He also raised the issue of how does that trust work with the newly regionalised North West Ambulance Service."

"Curiously, maybe the NWAS should have at least one extra person on their board. Ten people are named on their website as Board members with some indication of where they are based. The chairman is from Lancashire and his executive team of four appear to be all from Greater Manchester. Of the non-executives, presumably with the role of representing users, they come from Cumbria, two from Liverpool, one from Lytham St Anne's and one from Greater Manchester."

"Cheshire appears to be such an insignificant part of the North West that it's left out completely! We thought we might struggle in the far south of Cheshire, but we at least thought that the county might get a look in."
