Four members of Cheshire Constabulary's leadership team are heading for pastures new after several years together.
Chief Constable David Whatton will retire in June after 31 years of policing service. He became Chief Constable in 2008, having been Deputy Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police.
Assistant Chief Constable Ruth Purdie retired in March. She worked for North Wales Police for 32 years, having started her career as a police cadet. She joined Cheshire Constabulary as Assistant Chief Constable in 2011.
Also leaving is Deputy Chief Constable Helen King. Helen has been selected to be an Assistant Commissioner in the Metropolitan Police, having started her police career as a Constable in Cheshire in 1986.
And finally, Assistant Chief Officer David Rattigan has decided the time is right for him to move on. Cheshire Constabulary's next Chief Constable, Simon Byrne, will arrive in the Force at the start of May, in advance of his formal appointment in June.
