Recently Audlem Parish Council arranged with Cheshire East Council for air pollution monitoring to take place in the village square where the large trucks and heavy vehicles pass through. This started happening in January, and we have not heard of any results.
However, if you would like to set up a monitoring station in your neighbourhood then this suggestion from Dr Bloor may be appropriate

Are you aware that for a mere £15 donation to Friends of the Earth, you can get an Air Monitoring Kit that contains:-

  • An Air monitoring tube, strap and clip;
  • Instructions on how to use your air monitoring tube
  • A removable sticker to remind you when to take down your tube (2 weeks after installation)
  • A 'lab form' and freepost jiffy bag for you to send your tube back for analysis
  • An air pollution guide- including tips on avoiding dirty air.
  • Ideas and details of how you can join up with others to take action.
  • Each pack includes (the cost of) a full specialist lab analysis of your tube.

Your donation helps Friends of the Earth to enable many more people to test air pollution in their communities.
I have already got a kit, which I am installing at home, up on Kinsey Heath, in the hope that it will identify us as 'relatively clean', in spite of the diesel-powered tractors, lorries, vans, land-rovers, 4x4s and cars that pass by every day.
