Now in the cold of winter as nighttime temperatures drop . One night of high wind and the country stops. Trains cancelled. What on earth will it be like when we get into a true winter. Such a sad lot.

An aside. Have you ever stopped and thought- must write a letter, and then sit down to write many letters! — Not just "a letter" . Quirky English language usage .

Just a line on the running of this football club. Takes quite a bit of planning . But we have a superb committed team.

Along with myself- we have Kev Mort , much versed in the life of the club and a member of the old club way back in the 90's,juu is our ever present team manager. Kev was voted players player of the year, top scorer of the year and managers player of the year . In 1998 . So football runs in his blood for sure . By the way we have turned down the request to sell him to a place in Old Trafford. His skill at selecting the team on the day has ensured our superb lofty position. .Some months ago , Kev Rodgers , our commercial manager became partner to Rachel Anderson . They, together with their 5 beautiful children, carry out all the managerial duties of running our club. Liaising with the FA on all matters. Getting kits and sponsors. Carrying out all the secretarial duties and close contact with referees and opponents. Such a load taken off my own shoulders for which I am ever grateful. Long may the management team be so full of coordinated life and desire to do well .

Match of the day seen and the Liverpool goals enjoyed to the full .

Audlem F C is strong . And as the tables show, doing a good job , both on and off the field of play .

Now, to this day. At home in a league match , versus J S Bailey of Nantwich.

Referee Jem Cornes . A most welcome and fair referee .

Cold, cold day but dry so far . Thermals on for sure.

Car Park not overfull given the temperature. Sadly yesterday at the ADCA Craft fayre, many of those parking were ticketed by an over Zealous traffic warden. Why on earth he was here that day. Cold . I do regret knowing just who invited wardens to come here . So senseless .

But. Football. Opponents in their yellow and blue and we in our red/black home kit.

Kick off

1100

Good squad of 15 players, some with a small hangover from a heavy Saturday night.

Bells ringing as folks go in for the Cristingle service. Out top scorer Nick Gregory cannot be with us . Nor is James Craig available . Both such good team players and we could well miss them .

Cold cold morning. Pitch a tad frozen . Emma our physio and medic team member here.

Usual rush of blood to the head as both sides get going at each other.

First shot by us and goalie tips it over the bar . So first corner goes to us. No gain . Free kick to JSB . No gain

1104 . Superb header by Will Cork but goes behind the goal. Will was close then to opening the scoring .

A weak sun peeks briefly from leaden skies.not a breath of wind, which will be good for Neil Goodyear and the ADAS team as they turn out to restore the big Christmas tree, snapped off by the big gust of wind last night.

Shot by Will goes wide . By gosh, Will is on fire today and very hungry for goals .

We are well on top of the play as we mount attack after attack . Remarkable as to how many high balls .
