Adderley village hall is hoping for a £3,000 handout to help patch up its car park.

It is one of eight organisations in the Market Drayton area bidding for a share of £37,000 from the Local Joint Comittee(LJC) of Shropshire Council

Others bidding for grant aid include Market Drayton Town FC who want £4,000 towards a £12,000 scheme to install a new toilet block and a £1,642 request from Woore to erect a second 'Public Access Automated External Defibrillator Unit' in the village.

Adderley says the cash is needed towards a £5,550 project to repair a small section of the car park and to lay tarmac an additional area from the entrance alongside the hall.

Market Drayton LJC is responsible for awarding a devolved budget of £37,163 this year towards town and village schemes that benefit the wider community.

The LJC normally awards up to a maximum £4,000 towards each project and asks for evidence of match funding.

The eight schemes put forward so far this year total £16,681 and councillors meet on 23rd of October to decide which schemes get funding.
