Where are you, Cook, We need you!

16 hours per week; £11.45 per hour, plus extra hours for catering at fundraisers

This is a great opportunity for a keen experienced cook who's looking for a good part-time post (start date: ideally mid-August).

Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) runs a friendly dynamic team providing a number of support services and activities for older people in our community.

The successful candidate will be responsible to our Community Services Manager and their main task will be to prepare two-course lunches at our Tuesday Day Club in Audlem and light lunches at our Wednesday Club in Hankelow.

Our present chef is retiring, and the lovely elderly citizens who attend our Tuesday Club and our Wednesday lunch club each week would very much appreciate your skills in providing delicious nutritious meals for them to enjoy (and thrive on!).

Our staff and volunteers who run our clubs will welcome you too – especially when they sit down to enjoy what they have helped you prepare.

If you are successful, your main task will be to prepare two-course meals at our Tuesday Day Club in Audlem, and light lunches at our Wednesday Club in Hankelow, cooking for up to 25 people.

What does this involve?

You'll be working in our well-equipped modern kitchens, with help from our staff and volunteers.

You will be responsible for devising monthly menu plans for appetising and nutritious meals (in consultation with staff and club members), and for sourcing ingredients within an allocated budget. Special diets and allergies will need to be catered for.

Could this be the job for you?

Experience in preparing fresh ingredients and familiarity with a wide range of cooking techniques is important. Relevant food preparation certification is essential. Experience of catering for older people would be an asset.
