ADCA unveils Three Year Development Plan

The Trustees of Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) have now approved a strategic Development Plan for its services supporting older people, vulnerable adults, and carers.

The Overall Goal of the plan is to ensure flexibility, participation, resilience, sustainability and effective forward planning in all we do, so that we can continue to support, protect and enhance the lives of all who use our services.

We asked. You answered!

In 2021 ADCA consulted widely across the community on how to adapt and extend our support services as we come out of the pandemic and look to the future.

The results were clear.

You are highly satisfied overall with what ADCA currently provides.

You want us to continue supporting older people in the community who may be vulnerable or isolated or lack transport by providing lunch and coffee clubs, medical transport, outings and treats.

You want us to continue supporting carers with our in-person and online support groups, respite breaks, and telephone support.

You are keen to see us take forward the new services and activities we have already planned to undertake over the next three years.

During the consultation, many of you suggested new ideas for activities you would like to see us introduce. You proposed some specifically dementia-related activities, and others with a more general appeal.

All these comments will be followed up over the next three years.

What you will see happening in the first year

In response to the priorities that our members, carers, volunteers and the wider community have given us, we have set six key goals for the first year (shown in the last image).

And then...

What we will do over the following two years will be determined in light of what happens in the first year, the feedback we receive, and what funding opportunities are available to us.

We aim, as we have done since ADCA was founded in 2011, to respond flexibly to emerging needs and to continue to focus on supporting the wellbeing and independence of older people, promoting inclusion and community participation.

Thank you to everyone who helped us develop this plan. We will be relying on you again as we implement it!
