ADAS AGM- a night to celebrate achievements and awards. In her report the outgoing Chair, Bryony Nixon, gave details of the successful events and activities which The Society had organised throughout the year. These included the Big Switch-on, Carol singing, the Open Gardens Event as well as the Choral concert.

Silver Gilt Award

Bryony was proud to announce that Audlem had been presented with a Silver Gilt award by Britain in Bloom for the summer flower displays. She thanked the many volunteers who had helped throughout the year with the summer and winter planting as well as the Christmas lighting.

The Committee were elected and Neil Goodyear will take over as Chair. After a report on the Society's accounts, David Latchford gave details of the activities of the Audlem Medical and Nursing Trust. This year the Fund will be used to purchase medical equipment for the new treatment room in the Public Hall extension.

Citizen of the Year

The Citizen of the Year award was presented to Jane Dale in recognition of her dedicated services to the Guide and Brownie organisations. Shona Duncan received the Junior Citizen award. She had self-funded a charity working trip to Borneo and had also helped with the Guides. David Latchford presented the Best Kept commercial award to Judy Evans of Williams Newsagents. He presented the residential award to John Aubrey who had succeeded in creating a vibrant floral display with his hanging baskets in Stafford Street. The festive hamper was won by Peter and Marie Warburton.

Bryony received a bouquet and was given a vote of thanks for all her hard work as Chair.

After the meeting a glass of wine was enjoyed by all who attended.
