ADAPT Saturday Market. Saturday 13th September Lord Combermere Carpark.
What a welcome the rain has been, in a flash our arid desert yellow excuse for a grassland has been transformed into a green meadow, mowers are having to be coaxed back into life. Of course the weeds have surged ahead as well.

Back to the good old days.In anticipation of the change in weather, I have experimented making a wild flower patch. Soil dug over, seeds traditionally scattered, and rain watered. We have lift off--- germination. Cant wait till next Spring.

The market will be on as usual this week. We will have runner and french beans, tomatoes, courgettes, damsons, sweet peas, apples and pears. We have free range eggs, honey, and even more damsons turned into jam.

Cakes: In honour of apple pressing day across the way at the Methodist Chapel , there'll be freshly baked apple turnovers on the stall this week.

Cakes will be Victoria sandwich and orange syrup. Crab apple jelly, redcurrant jelly Hedgerow jam, damson jam, pear and blackberry, Victoria plum jam.

10am till noon at The Lord Combermere Car Park.
