Could the person who borrowed one of our ADAPT market white fold-away tables sometime week commencing 3rd August please return it as needed it to display our produce and for other village activities. It was stored down the side of the Lord C building.
Its just a year since we returned back to the Lord C Carpark from our previous more sheltered Buttermarket location, how time flies.
We welcome the rain that has finally arrived – not before time, but too late to save many of our crops. The apples this year are less numerous and smaller, but their excellent taste has been preserved, we have some on the market this week. The main early varieties are the bright red Worcester Permains and the sometimes pink fleshed Discovery. For the AudIem cooks we shall have some Bramleys as well. I don t mind the early windfalls being taken by the rabbits, blackbirds and mice but I do object to the Squirrels taking the unripe fruit from the trees.
On the market this week will be (no roasted squirrel) but runner beans, tomatoes, courgettes, possibly some plums. There will be a variety of marmalades, jams, jellies and chutneys.
We have a few bottles of Cider vinegar for the market and if the good people of Audlem and District have any empty vinegar bottles then the supply of Cider vinegar to the village can be continued.
Also on the market will be a few jars of honey, free range eggs, possibly cakes and not fogetting our selection of garden plants
10am till noon on the The Lord Combermere Car Park.
