Abandoned car in village centre to be removed

Many will have noticed the brown Hyundai car parked in the middle of the village. Indeed PC Ken Maple has received calls asking what's to be done about the car which has now blocked off one of the few parking spaces in the village centre for 10 days or more. The saga began when the vehicle's owner, who comes from Market Drayton, was stopped, breathalysed and subsequently charged with drink driving.

The vehicle, which has damaged wheels, was abandoned but the owner has since been told to arrange for its removal. As it is blocking one of the disabled ramps, we are told it will be removed by the police very shortly.
