A500 closure next week

Notice of a temporary road closure has been received by Audlem Parish Council

The road concerned is the A500 SHAVINGTON BYPASS, between Meremore Roundabout and Cheerbrook Roundabout.

It is anticipated that Cheshire East Highways will carry out carriageway patching works from Monday 17th until Wednesday 19th June 2013, between 09:30 – 15:30 hours, although the notice of closure allows the works to be extended to five days if necessary.

The alternative route during the closure will be via the A531 Newcastle Road and A51* Newcastle Road and vice versa. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents.

*Editor's comment – surely this is not the A51, but the old main road through Hough and Shavington?
