Cows and Bulls

A new puzzle for AudlemOnline readers – highly appropriate for Audlem as an agricultural centre.

There is a new online word game called Wordle (look it up here if you have any interest in this sort of thing) which has become very popular.

Our own home-grown game is based on an old pencil-and-paper game called cows and bulls.

The idea is that you have to work out a five-letter word by guessing other five-letter words until you get the right answer. The word (and the words used to guess it) must not contain repeated letters.
After each guess the system tells you how many letters you have guessed correctly in the right place in the word ("Bulls") and how many you have guessed correctly but not in the right place ("Cows").

A new word to be guessed is automatically generated each day.
