Coming in to the last week of January we have lots of delicious menu ideas to tempt you.

We have some fabulous free recipe books on the counter too – published by EBLEX (English Beef & Lamb Executive) – these are great to inspire new recipes at home for weeknight suppers & entertaining at home.

There is still some stunning Welsh Black beef reared by David Charlesworth available this weekend. Whether it's a tender topside roasting joint or a succulent sirloin steak this 28 day dry aged beef will excite your taste buds.

We are still in slow cooking mode...a slow cooked lamb curry, oxtail stew or brisket in a rich gravy are all things that make for an inexpensive weeknight meal that can be popped in the slow cooked before you leave the house in the morning.

The best thing about this (apart from feeling smug that you have already cooked supper before work!) is the beautiful smell of home cooking on your return home – you really can't beat it!

For the children, Charles can prepare some delicious fresh chicken goujons which take just minutes to cook and make for happy children on any week night in our house – they are made with fresh chicken fillets, dipped in a farm fresh egg wash and then coated in natural breadcrumbs – who needs Captain Birdseye!

If you have a playdate arranged just call the shop and order ahead so you can just pick them up quickly when you are passing.

Don't forget the fish stall will be open as usual this Saturday with an array of the freshest fish you can find.
