With have a problem with tree bees that have started to nest in one of our bird boxes.
They seem quite aggressive otherwise we would leave them alone.
Does anyone know of someone who could solve our Bee problem?
It appears the light has been removed and the junction box taped up further up the pole with insulation tape.
It remains to be seen if it's reinstalled.
Just to bring everyone's attention to it. Tabley Homes (Audlem) Ltd have a planning proposal with Cheshire East for 24 new homes in a field opposite the "Anwyl" development. This proposal contravenes the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan (ANP) in many ways. The ANP was, approved by Cheshire East.
For more information enter "Tabley Homes" in the search box of Audlem Online or follow the CE link to find planning applications where you can leave comments and read the ones I have already left regarding this proposal in the context of the ANP. I strongly believe Audlem residents should support developments that help the village to thrive, but only if they fall within the agreed ANP which was developed in consultation with residents, agreed by Audlem Parish Council and ratified by CE. This proposal does not pass that test and there is not likely to be an Audlem Parish Council meeting before the deadline for comments, so there is a very real risk that the voice of Audlem residents will not be heard in this matter
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD COMMENT ON THE CE PLANNING WEBSITE AND FORWARD YOUR COMMENTS TO A PARISH COUNCILLOR.

I expect they'll come out and stick it back together with yellow tape, like the two on Stafford Street, one of which was damaged about a year ago
There is a street light hanging off its pole on Cheshire St by Emberton Close.
I have filed a report to Cheshire East Council tonight.
Lots of doom and gloom about food production and producers selling up in today's Farmers Guardian. But it was interesting to note that one government, Germany, are scrutinising their biofuel policies as they seek to minimise food price increases. Rapeseed oil is now flowing into the food sector instead of biodiesel. It also notes that Norway, Sweden, and Finland are doing likewise. How long will it take our government to join the dots?
Thanks for sharing the information, Liz.
Combining the information in your post with that in the AOL News item last night, there are 2 scheduled closures of the A529 this summer:
1. The closure of the A529 at Adderley scheduled by Shropshire Highways for 15th to 19th August: https://one.network/?tm=128709550
I hope that this relates at least partly to work under the A529 Safer Road Fund project. I sent an email to Shropshire Highways on Wednesday requesting a further update on the project as far as it affects Adderley and the stretch to the county boundary, but have not yet received a response.
2. The closure of the stretch from the Shropshire/Cheshire county boundary north to Audlem, scheduled by Cheshire East Highways for 27th June to 8th July, subject apparently to CEC's legal team 'sealing' the closure on 16th June: https://one.network/?tm=128602798
It's unfortunate that CE Highways and Shropshire Highways have apparently been unable to synchronise their work to enable a single road closure.
Bruce Mantle – I've not heard of an imminent closure but have found this information posted on Audlem Life.
Perhaps someone else can verify if this is up to date closure information for Green Lane at Adderley?

Hi Mark,
Have a look at the Local Accommodation section in the Directory on this website. Hope this helps. Nigel.

Hi
Can anyonr recommend someonewho can clean out guttering please?
I always try to use local tradespeople for jobs but it is hard when many of the ones on the Audlem Online business directory don't even bother to respond.
Thank you Peter for that trip down memory lane. When we moved into our cottage there were about five farms around Wood Orchard, Bagley Lane, Paddock lane, Green lane and Woore road, now Mr. Goldstraw is the only one left. We are very lucky we still have sheep in the fields on oneside of the cottage and cows on the other side. My grandson loves watching the sheep especially the lambs, I like the Cows they are my time clock, 4:30 5:00am they are calling to each other along with the dawn chorus. I consider myself very lucky.
A first nation Indian once said " when the last tree is felled, the last fish cought and the last stream poisoned, only then will we realize we can't eat money "
Peter Webb.
I assume the lack of response to my question is effectively a no.
Anyone know when the road closure has been rescheduled to?
I recall that site being flooded for nearly twelve months some decades ago, when the drain that takes the water off it, blocked, down towards the bottom of the small valley to the east. There are several drainage chambers on the site that tell of it's past. Will Tabley Homes be installing a new, substantial drainage system, in the manner that the Anwyl Estate provided for it's site, to ensure that the extensive surface water that will arise from its development, will not prove a nightmare for the new residents?
Peter Morgan speaks a lot of truth re the UK's food crisis. It is a subject we talk about most days. Last week I was outside a shop in Market Drayton when a gentleman started talking about the very same subject. He asked if I was aware that some of the large airline companies were buying up farms and farm land to help off-set their carbon footprint. Their idea is to plant thousands of trees on what was formerly good, food producing land, so giving people who purchase their airline tickets the idea that their flight is carbon friendly. The reality of so much land being taken out of food production is quite alarming on top of the fact that we are a heavily populated island, relying on food imports from overseas.
What is everyone in the village doing to celebrate the jubilee?
If the need for a taxi is to attend a medical appointment then ADCA, or possibly ADAS as I get my acronyms muddled, do run a voluntary service. I used to be an occasional driver but do not kn ow if it is still operating.
Hope this helps.
Has the scheduled closure of the stretch of Green Lane (A529) in Cheshire north to Audlem gone ahead as per news item on 7th April?
