Stuart Furber on A little riddle

18th December 2022 @ 9:11am

Need to put a 10 (yes TEN) at the end of that riddle, for that's how many there were of us on Friday early evening – most I've seen on one bus. 3 of us on at Bagley Lane, 5 on in the village and 2 at Hankelow. All safely and efficiently delivered into Nantwich

Another entertaining read.! Merry Christmas, and unless your booze has run out it will be.

Gail Evans on Bird Scarer

18th December 2022 @ 6:51am

If my memory serves me well this chat box topic comes up every year, including last. Farmers are keeping birds off the land to protect seeds down, crops and to animal feed . I think last year someone was on about starting a scarecrow rota made up of those opposed to them

Roger walker on Bird Scarer

17th December 2022 @ 3:03pm

Bird scarers are legal to use between the hours of 7am until 10pm without any restrictions. I'm guessing the increase in use is more then likely down to avian flu

Ann Tilling on A little riddle

I did enjoy the riddle Colin and we almost got the answer but too late, Billy probably needs the sand more!

Suzanne Poole on Lost dog

17th December 2022 @ 12:58pm

A little white westie/bichon frise type dog called Casper has gone missing from Corbrook Park care home. He ran away last night. He is deaf and not local to the area as he is staying with a member of staff whilst his owner is away. Please contact Corbrook on 01270812049 or Suzie Poole on 07896507981.

D. Smith on Bird Scarer

My dog is the same about the constant shotgun noise that goes off every twenty mins or so. The noise is around the Salford end of Audlem and is now proving to be a noise pollution.

Colin Cliffe on A little riddle

17th December 2022 @ 3:59am

Nice try Terry, but Billy was a lot closer with his guess, the numbers represent the number of passengers I have seen on the Go Too bus the last 12 times that I have seen it. As you are the closest to the correct answer Billy you will be pleased to know that you have won 5 whole pounds, so please bring a bucket when you come to collect it as you can't carry that much sand in your bare hands.

Terry Aston on A little riddle

16th December 2022 @ 12:55pm

Does each "0" represent a pothole on Paddock Lane with the "1" being the only one actually successfully repaired by Cheshire East?

Gayle Marquis-Walker on Bird Scarer

16th December 2022 @ 12:46pm

I think the increased shotgun noises are probably down to it being pheasant shooting season?

Billy Gibbons on A little riddle

16th December 2022 @ 8:20am

I also thought it was something to do with Santa as in; his catchphrase (Ho Ho Ho/ O O O etc) but I now don't think it is.
Re-reading some of Colin's previous posts, I see he's 'passionate' about the Go Too Bus service so, is it the amount of people that have been spotted on the bus in a year (including the driver of course, hence the 1)
If I'm right, is the prize a season ticket for the Go Too bus service? If it is, I'll kindly decline because I'd actually like talking to other passengers and I feel that would be something I wouldn't be able to participate in. ;-)

kenneth lee on A little riddle

15th December 2022 @ 6:43pm

Can't be 'the one in the middle' because it's not, could be 'the odd one out' but there again it's not out cos it's in or it is Colin's latest cracker joke. Ho ho ho.

Billy Gibbons on Aside.

15th December 2022 @ 5:05pm

Er...it it just me or is there anyone else out there that doesn't know why there's the word 'aside' after peoples posts.

P.S. Just in case it's a trend; a bit like people starting their sentences with the word 'so' and going up at the end of their sentences; I'll put it at the end of my post.aside ;-)

bob fousert on

15th December 2022 @ 4:27pm

As I'm older than five years of age and therefore, a technophobe, can some one please explain in words of one syllable why we are suddenly seeing

after recent Chatbox entries? Aside from that I think that I'm slowly getting to grips with things technical.

Trevor Charlesworth on A little riddle

Looks like my tax code Colin ?

Iain Findlay on Bird Scarer

15th December 2022 @ 3:46pm

Over the past few months there has been an increase in the amount of shotgun noise outside the village. I was recently advised that it was a bird scarer that was the culprit. Can anyone explain why this activity is going on at this time of the year? Is permission required for this activity? The reason I ask, my dog, an 8 year old collie, refuses to leave the house and gets very agitated by the noise.

Gary Peplow on A little riddle

Carol Palin on Shroppie Fly

15th December 2022 @ 1:42pm

I would like to thank Dale at the Shroppie for making my husband and I so very welcome for my birthday meal last evening (14th). The meal was extremely good and the wine went down a treat. The pub was warm and welcoming and several groups of drinkers and diners came to enjoy the atmosphere. We wish them a great Christmas season and good luck for the future.

Ceri parsons on Shroppie Fly

How fantastic, what a hospitable, warm, homely welcome by Mike, Dale and Alice (& Benson) last night. Lovely food, warm, traditional, village pub. It was great to see friendly faces from the village enjoying the same. You have new regulars in us! Good luck to the team, what a fabulous start.

Celia Bloor on Archives coming to Crewe

15th December 2022 @ 6:26am

The present building would not be suitable for storage of archive material which needs controlled temperature and humidity. I think the bulk of the money comes from national grants which have been won. This development should bring some prestige and visitors to Crewe.
