As Jackie has told you at one point no 31 Stafford St. was the house of the local Methodist minister (I remember the Rev. & Mrs Little living there, in the 1960s). However, there is / was a 'Yew Tree' cottage/house much further up the same road – past the Bath Lane corner.

31 Stafford Street is on Google Maps, slightly set back from the main road on the left as you head towards Salford.

Thanks everyone reference the wasp nest issue I had. Managed to get rid of them by using ant powder on it. They disappeared overnight and have not returned 😃

in the early 1970s when I moved here it was the Methodist Manse, but not now

I was wondering if there is a house called Yew Tree House in Audlem? 31 Stafford Street. My grandmother and her parents lived there between about 1908 and 1920. I have an old photo taken about 1915 of my grandmother and great grandmother sat in the front garden enjoying the sun.

I feared the worst Cox's are not happy this far north and also need a pollinator.I inherited one when we moved and despite a lot of TLC failed and was replaced by variety called Spartan bred with Cox's in its pedigree. It produces deep red fruit ready to pick late september /early October and many think it's flavour is superior to that of the moden Cox. Sorry to be despondent

I have zero mulch around my apple tree and I also reallocated the tree to another location in my garden in October / November last year.
