On behalf of the highly incompetent, dysfunctional Cheshire East Highways Department, I'd like to apologise to all those who had to return to their cars after Party In The Park through this dark, unlit alley last night. I first reported the failure of the light where the two alleys meet (Number7) on June 10th. 2020 ( No, the year is right). Despite several more reports and regular reports to Fix My Streets, nothing has been done. I'd also like to apologise on their behalf in advance to those who might be using The Scout and Guide Hut at night and, as the nights draw in, those school children using the alley on their route home from school. I suppose this is what you get from a Council that is not remotely interested in the safety and security of its residents, especially when they are such a very long way from Macclesfield.
I would recommend Tim from Astro Aerials in Crewe ; attends when he says he will, never does unnecessary work, not heavy with the pen and clean & tidy. Not more you could ask for really . His contact details ; 01270 850012 or 07751041156.
Try Stephen Rose. We have used him to repair a couple of antique clocks. Numbers 01606-554475. 01477-415091.

Hello looking for a Antique clock repairer who knows the trade and is competent, wall clocks and long case clocks in particular. Thank you
Can anyone recommend a television aerial fitter?
Amateur/aspiring model (or basically anyone who doesn't mind having their photos taken!) wanted for for a photoshoot.
Will be an outdoor setting, weather and timing dependent of course.
Couples or indivduals welcome.
Call or WhatsApp, Geoff 07869 146287.
One of our dogs was set upon by a sandy coloured, Cairn terrier-type dog this morning whilst we were walking along the canal towpath towards the marina (from Audlem). In an attempt to get our 15year old dog away from the attacking dog, my husband picked our dog up, only for the offending dog to jump up and bite my husband on the hand (it was still trying to get to our dog), resulting in my husband sustaining a nasty puncture wound which is requiring treatment. What I was absolutely appalled about, is the absolute ignorance of the owner and the other lady she was with, as they simply walked off along the towpath, towards Audlem without an apology or anything, despite us shouting that her dog had bitten my husband. They also had with them a black labrador and another large red-coloured dog. I believe she may be local, as are we. We will be reporting the incident as the attack was completely unprovoked and targeted at our smaller dog and I would not wish this to happen to anybody else. More to the point, if your dog has a tendency to go for others KEEP IT ON A LEAD.
Throwing Eggs
Did anyone notice any antisocial behaviour last night in Audlem? Unfortunately our airbnb apartment was occupied last night and the guests had eggs thrown at them through the (open) window. Not the kind of thing we would usually expect from Audlem. Most guests comment how welcome they are made to feel in the village. We have new guests coming in today and have to get this cleaned up before they check in. Really disappointing that we have to go to this extra work and cost for such unnecessary behaviour.
Hi Bob Thanks for your advice. We agree completely. For any concerned followers, if a tank of this type was used for temporary storage we would of course cut the top off, use the ponds existing pump/ filter provide adequate shade and a net. This is just a short term fix whilst a new pond is under construction. Lynn
Hello – Wondering if anyone can recommend a tree surgeon to trim some large Conifers on the garden boundary – Thanks
A huge thank you to ASET for providing a very memorable Festival Of Transport on Sunday which our members thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks must also go to the Marshals and organisers at Hankelow and Audlem who made everything run so smoothly. We also thank the Residents of Audlem and Hankelow who made the Show so special by showing their support along the route and at the showground. We, as the Potterties & South Cheshire MG Owners Club attend many car shows throughout the year but it is Audlem Festival of Transport that always remains special. Long may it continue. Once again a BIG BIG THANK YOU.
My name is Benjie and I am a dog
I like nothing better than to go for a jog.
The trouble is my nerves are bad
And I hate fireworks, which is very sad.
On Friday and Sunday they were far away
But to my ears they were clear as day,
My tail goes down and I run to hide
Until my Mum comes to my side.
Humans love them , she does tell
But for me It is a living hell.
Children have stars in their eyes
But inside me a little dies.
It seems that I should try to be strong
If My Mum is right, I must be wrong.
To whoever is asking for an extra large plastic tank I would suggest that you think twice before putting fish into a container similar to the one on your listing. Unless the top is cut off and a source of oxygenation such as a water pump is supplied, your fish won't last very long.
For several nights now I've seen a rental van parked outside the buttermarket whilst its driver enjoys his tea at the Lord Combermere, I was just wondering if this was a privilege of being a parish councillor or has this councillor just taken upon himself to adopt this as his car parking space. Just wondering if its worth perhaps painting a bay with his name on to save confusion

LOST, MISSING, CAN NOT FIND, Turnpike? For such a great and valuable village resource , why isn't it on the AOL map and village information boards on the carpark and canal for anybody new or old to the village,
Thank you Celia for alerting us to the passing of Geoff Farr. What an amazing life he has led, if a light plane flies over the area, I never think otherwise than, 'its Geoff', albeit I know in recent times it is a member of his family.
May I via chatbox send my sincere condolences to all of his family.
All reunited now
I would highly recommend Derek Mawby Paving Ltd 07831 583227. You are welcome to come to see the job that he has done for me in Audlem.
Apologies to anybody our teenage son managed to upset this morning by having a bonfire and creating lots of smoke. He forgot to engage brain whilst home alone and clearing garden greenery!
We have someone's small brown wire haired terrier- was loose on Audlem Road in traffic.
He's safe here but no doubt wants to be reunited !
Thanks Steve for those figures re noise to be expected in Hankelow and in Monks Lane from the proposed use of The PARKES as a large wedding venue for up to 300 guests. They could help myself and any others who also wish to add our objections to send to Cheshire East Planning, the deadline for which is under 2 weeks away.
The figures you give for Monks Lane are at the Heathfield Road end, so I imagine will be much worse for those nearer The PARKES itself.
Just seen a tiny notice in the Chronicle that suggests Geoff has died. Did I blink and miss an announcement? Lovely man full of anecdotes and author of at least one book. Please forgive me if I have had a senior moment and should have known!
I'm looking to widen my existing tarmac drive and wonder if anyone can recommend anyone who would do a good job. Thanks
Crikey Colin, that's a fair old list. But how come you haven't warned also about Billy's rocket launches – they must make the foundations shake when he ignites the engine?
I've got a neighbour with a noisy black Ford Capri, but I'm not complaining about it as he's promised me a go in it, although I guess we'd better avoid Saturday night or Sunday afternoon just in case someone complains.
