The Society was formed in 1980 by a small group of local residents (several of whom are still members today). It currently has a membership of around 70 members.

Our meetings (which are open to all) are held on the third Thursday of the month from September to May at 7.30pm in the Scout and Guide Hall, Cheshire Street. They usually take the form of an illustrated talk on some aspect of history – local and further afield. We also have outings to places of interest.

Details of meetings are emailed to members, feature on AudlemOnline and displayed in our noticeboard on Shropshire Street.
