A little like London buses all arriving at the same time, following the news last week that Audlem Cycling Club and the First Responders have new websites, another local site is now available. Audlem St James' Church has now launched its very own site at www.stjamesaudlem.org.uk
As well as a history of St James, the website draws attention to some points of interest in the building. These include Fourteenth century tiles below the West window of tower (there's an adjacent light switch to illuminate them); a Roman Funeral Urn (70-90 AD) on a shelf to right of Lady Chapel east windows; Fourteenth century wooden chest adjacent to the north wall; 15th century Font to the left of pulpit. There's the Priest's door on the outside of south Chancel wall and the rare Mass dial.
The website has been added to the Links section of Audlem Online where a wide range of local and useful website links can be found. The websites are in alphabetical order and there's now six pages in all.
