It's under three weeks now to the Audlem Festival, the annual music and arts festival which has run in the village since 2000.

There's music to suit all tastes, exhibitions, poetry events and the carnival. Thanks to sponsorship by local businesses, entry to all the events is completely free, so why not come along and enjoy art displays and performances from talented musicians and poets from across the UK, Europe and beyond.

This year's Festival runs from 22nd — 26th May and also sees the Audlem Carnival, dating back to 1812, on the Bank Holiday Monday. The music covers virtually every style from Classical to Hard Rock with Jazz, Folk, Choral and much else to enjoy.

Most of the music is at Audlem's three pubs who are all great supporters of the Festival while other venues such as Audlem's magnificent St James' church also feature. Outdoor stages complement the indoor performances meaning a busy programme to suit all tastes.

The Poetry Slam at the Bridge Inn is another popular draw as poets battle to win this prestigious and fun-packed event.

Art features strongly at the Festival too. Over the Bank Holiday weekend, festival-goers will be able to browse through numerous fascinating displays including the amazing 'Masking Tape Last Supper' which was a huge hit last year and will be displayed again at the 2014 festival.

Most of the displays will be installed at the Methodist Church Hall. There will be an opportunity to meet some of the artists and to learn more about their work. Confirmed artists include: Mike Reeves, Christine and Ellie Johnson, Kate McKennan, Jim Oakes, Ian Jones and Ann Jones while the pupils of Audlem school are preparing their own work based on Aboriginal Art.

The Audlem Festival has grown into one of the best free Music & Arts Festival for many a mile. Top performers come back year after year because they love the atmosphere and enthusiasm of the audiences while the village is also home to a remarkable number of talented performers.
